Nagma to get married

Nagma has been romantically linked with several stars and a cricketer in the past. But all this turned out to be just rumors, as there was no news about a wedding. The actress, however, now says that she intends to get married soon. However, she was not forthcoming about the details of the groom, sources say.



Nagma has starred in several hit films in Tamil, Telugu, Bhojpuri and Hindi. She then moved on to active politics.

RAMBHA’S grand WEDDING PLANS

Rambha got engaged to Canada-based business man Indran a couple of months ago. The news now is that the wedding is scheduled to take place in Tirupathi on April 8th. The wedding is expected to be a private affair with just a few family and friends attending.



Following the wedding, a reception will be hosted in Chennai on April 11th. The venue for the reception is said to be a popular five-star hotel.

News from Chennai is that Sukanya who got married in 2002 to an NRI Sridharan returned to India right the next year. Since then, she has been focusing on her career and now, she has applied for divorce without consent from her husband and this has raked up an issue.


While the husband has filed a writ, the court for now has ruled it in favor of Sukanya. Though it is a bit of sensitive situation, Sukanya’s fans are all smiles to see her on the small screen and silver screen.

Surya and Jyotika in philanthropic activities

Actors Suriya and Jyotika are recently getting involved in a lot of philanthropic activities. These days, they are juggling with their new parenthood and careers, and still find time to continue their philanthropic activities. The couple has lately been very active with Agaram Foundation, started by actor Sivakumar. The foundation has adopted two schools and is engaged in activities to promote education. It is well known that this couple, in collaboration with Tamil Nadu Educational board, is making a short film to promote education among children in villages and from the poorer sections of the society, especially girls. It also touches upon the subject of autism. The aim of this short film is to promote education and stop these children from dropping out of schools.



This documentary is on the verge of completion and is being eagerly awaited by everyone as it brings together almost all the stars of Kollywood, including Vijay and Madhavan. Though Ajith wanted to participate, he could not do so because of tight schedules plus health problems related to his spine surgery. K.V. Anand is the cameraman; Harris Jayaraj is composing music; Mani Rathnam and Rajiv Menon are also associated with this documentary.



This is Jyotika’s first tryst with the camera after her marriage. She is known to be very much involved with her family, especially with her daughter; so much so that she stopped acting after marriage. But she agreed to do this film to support the noble cause. Ignoring the hot summer, she reported for outdoor shooting for this movie. The film’s shooting began last month with some scenes being shot at Marina Beach. It was a scene in which Jyotika walking on the beach with a bunch of kids.



Suriya, despite being busy with Varaanam Ayiram and Ayan, is giving his best for this documentary. He is planning his schedules in advance and making adjustments so as to be available for this film’s shooting. In fact, the visible happiness generated by working together in this documentary has sparked speculations that this couple might soon act again in a commercial venture too.

Nayanthara would commit suicide??

Prabhu Deva and Nayanthara shared a special relationship which blossomed into love. This had created quite a flutter in Kollywood because Prabhu is married to Ramlath and has two children.



Both Prabhu and Nayan have neither acknowledged their relationship in public nor have they denied it. Ramlath on the other hand has been running from pillar to post to get back her husband.

Prabhu Deva’s ‘Ich’ may change

Two films with fancy small titles are contemplating how that will be received. One is Pushkar-Gayatri directed ‘Va- Quarter Cutting’ and the other is Prabhu Deva directed ‘Ich’. Both films are backed by reputed banners, Cloud Nine Movies and AGS Entertainers respectively.



While speaking at the audio launch function of ‘Va- Quarter Cutting’, Dhayanidhi Alagiri of Cloud Nine Movies categorically said the title of the film is only ‘Va’ and Quarter Cutting’ is just a tag line. He also said ‘Va’ is a clear Tamil title and hoped it will pass through all stipulation and regulations (Read tax exception for Tamil titles).

For the Prabhu Deva directed ‘Ich’ there may be a decision soon to change the title. Apparently people feel the ‘Jayam’ Ravi and Hansika Motwani starrer title is not Tamil enough for obvious reasons. What could be the new tile? Sources say they have a long but catchy title ‘Ennai Vittu Odi Poga Mudiyuma’ under consideration. We like it.

Simbu play a small but meaty role with Ajith

It appears that finally, actor Ajith has made up his mind to re-launch his film career and get started with his next project to be directed by Venkatprabhu. Reports say that the actor has conveyed his ‘whole-hearted’ willingness to the actor-turned-director Venkatprabhu to star in his next film titled ‘Mangatha’.

Ajith is said to be in a hurry to complete the film’s shooting before October this year when he would leave for Europe again to take part in the motor car racing championships. Meanwhile, one hears that actor Simbu, a self-confessed fan of Ajith, may also play a small but meaty role in the film.

Simbu, who imitated Ajith’s ‘Billa’ style in his film ‘Silambattam’ which released last year, is to further reiterate his allegiance to Ajith by starring alongside him in the film. Simbu, who has completed almost 90% of the shooting of his ‘Poda Podi’ in Canada, is said to be planning to shoot the remaining sequences in Tamil Nadu.

Though Simbu isn’t the director of the film which pairs him up opposite Sarath Kumar’s daughter Varalakshmi, it’s a known fact that he ‘ghost’ directs most of his films!

Simbhu busy in London

STR aka Simbu aka Silambarasan is reviving one of his pet projects that is laid lame for different reasons at different times. The actor who is also a director is keen on reviving his pet project 'Vaaliban'
Silambarasan currently busy in London shooting for 'Podaa Podi' has started working on 'Vaaliban' revival even as he is busy in London. He has invited all the key probables involved in the scripting of the film to London and is discussing the film.

Sources say, Silambarasan has even completed a photo session for 'Vaaliban' with his favourite photographer specially flown to London.

The story of ‘Vaaliban’ is rumoured to be about the second love of a man who failed in his first. Sources also say the film will have shades of Simbu-Nayantara affair which was a well talked about affair few years ago.

Meanwhile, the buzzing Silambarasan will fly down to Chennai for 20 days of work to complete the under production 'Vaanam'. Soon after finishing ‘Vaanam’ Silambarasan will go back to London for ‘Podaa Podi’ and of course to complete the scripting of ‘Vaaliban’ in London itself.

Murali passes away

Popular hero Murali passed away early this morning following a massive heart attack. The actor complained of chest pain last night and was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai where his end came. Murali made his Tamil debut with Poo Vilangu and went on to give several smash hits including Idhayam and Pudhu Vasantham.

His son Atharva entered the filmdom very recently with Baana Kaathadi and has been receiving rave reviews for his performance in the film.

Murali’s death is a great loss to the film industry. He is survived by his wife, daughter and two sons.

Soundarya Rajnikanth’s fairy tale wedding becomes historical in Kollywood

Legendary actor Rajnikanth’s daughter, Soundarya Rajnikanth has opened the golden chapter of her life while entering into the sacred institution of marriage with Ashwin Ramkumar, son of real estate magnate, Ramkumar. The wedding rituals were performed today morning around 7:45 AM at Rani Meyammai Hall in Chennai.

Soundarya Rajnikanth is the youngest daughter of megastar Rajnikanth and enterpreneur Latha Rajnikanth. Soundarya is film graphics designer, producer and director who is working in Chennai. She owns production house named Ocher Picture Productions. Her latest venture was Sultan- the Warrior, an animation film in which his father lent his voice for the lead actor. Ashwin Kumar is Post-graduate from Stanford University, USA. He is taking care of his father’s business. Soundarya and Ashwin got engaged at Hotel Park Sheraton in Chennai on 17 February 2010.

Soundarya was looking gorgeous in her green colored specially designed traditional Kanjeevaram sari. And Ashwin Kumar in conventional dhoti looked like chocolate boy of Bollywood films. Rajnikanth, dressed in white shirt and dhoti along with yellow turban tied around his head, was performing customs of wedding ceremony as directed by priests. The wedding ceremony was conducted as per Tamil Brahmin traditions when Vedic mantras were chanted to shower blessings on newly wed couple.

Soundarya’s wedding is said to be the magnificent gala of Kollywood. The event was graced by who’s who of Indian Film Industry and political arena. Biggies like Sridevi, Boney Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan were prominent from Bollywood. The close friends of Rajnikanth from Kollywood, Kamal Hassan and Gauthmi were present to compliment the newly wed couple. Political dignitaries like Home Minister, P. Chidambaram, MDMK general secretary Vaiko and former minister R.M.Veerappan were there at the wedding ceremony.

Rajnikanth along with his wife Latha were greeting their revered guests wholeheartedly. Rajnikanth welcomed his mentor K.Balachander, renowned director, Mani Ratnam, poet Vairamuthu, singer P. Susheela and actors like Prabhu, Sivakumar and Suhasini; while the newly wed couple was getting clicked in cameras posing with renowned personalities. Soundarya in her nine yards red colored sari was looking stunning along with her groom in pure white attire. Ranikanth has made every effort to turn his youngest daughter’s wedding into historical event in Kollywood. However, he could not invite his friends and fans owing to space and security constraints.

Before the wedding ceremony, a grand Mehandi function was hosted by the Rajnikanth. The event was filled with real fun and joy as music jockey Dev played the music of festive mood and temper. Old Tamil songs were played. Rajnikanth made the moment memorable by singing one of his favorite Tamil songs, 'Adho andha paravai pola’.

Now Rajnikanth is gearing up for the reception party that is going to be held on Sep 3 evening. Soundarya is going to wear sari designed by fashion designer of Bollywood Manish Malhotra as she wants to have the blend of conventional and contemporary attributes in her apparel for reception. The event will be graced by Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, former Chief Minister, Jaylalitha and many such distinguished public figures.

Director Sundar C met with an accident

Our director-actor Sundar C is now doing the film with the leading heroine Sneha and Sindhu Thulani. He is remaking the Super star Rajinikanth’s ‘Murattukkali’ film. Where the film shooting is shot at ‘Thenkasi’. Where in this film Rekla race scene was filmed in ‘Sundarapandiyapuram’ in ‘Thenkasi’.

When the shooting of the film is progressing there is a scene where Sundar.C is riding a Rekla cart suddenly it went out of the control and the director hit the soil hurting his legs, with burden on his arms. He was immediately admitted in the nearby hospital and as per the doctor consult Sundar C asks to take rest and he stayed at the resorts nearby ‘Kutralam’. The news was immediately intimated to actress Kushboo where wife of director Sundar C. Then the actor reported that shooting will resume in one or two days.

Vijay’s ‘Kaavalan’ in VIT College

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s upcoming film ‘Kaavalan’ is rolling fast on floors of VIT College in Vellore. The film started rolling before 6 months in Chennai and shooting was held in various parts of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The original version ‘Bodyguard’ directed by Siddique featured Dhilip and Nayanthara sharing the screen space.

Looks like the film’s storyline is similar to Suriya-Trisha starrer ‘Mounam Pesiyadhe’, in which a series of phone calls from a girl changes the protagonist’s life…

The complete first half would travel on the lines of fun, frolic and romance while the second half turns to be more contrast with emotions and poignant romance with an unexpected twist during climax.

Vidhyasagar has scored music for the film while Ekambaram of ‘Iyarkai’ has handled cinematography. The role played by director Siddique in original version will be enacted by Vadivelu in this remake version.

The scenes involving college sequences are being shot at VIT College in Vellore and the shooting will wrap up after this schedule.

Looks like Susindran had his fingers crossed soon after writing the script. One could really wonder how come producers of Studio Green Films could accept such scripts and Dayanidhi Azhagiri acquiring the rights over the project. The film might be having higher
expectations as Kalainyar TV airs continuous promos and more promotions. But when you walk out of theatres, it’s completely annoying as the film doesn’t offer any in special.

Let’s make it clear this way. The first half is fun-ridden romantic drama while the second half is damn serious. Few may have great likeliness for the first half while others prefer second hour due to its interesting narration.

However when it comes to analyzing the film on whole, ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’ doesn’t carry off anything in unique style. Although, the theme was reported to be on crime rates in Chennai, the filmmaker has completely failed to focus into the central theme. It’s not just about uncovering the real drama of murders like stabbing a person with knife toasted in cyanide liquids. But it is worth master planning on a sketch to stab down an ordinary person. During the penultimate sequence, we see that one of the villain’s friend killing the uncle. In the very next scene, we see them boozing up together. During the climax portion, we see the dons being slaughtered mercilessly. Couldn’t they call out for their henchmen residing in the same area?

Karthi says that he saw the exact culprit when his father was describing his physique and appearance. Well, if so, Karthi could have interrupted his father pointing down that person standing not even 20 yards from them. Of course, even the police commissioner and his constables were present there. If police commissioner was really an intellectual person, he wouldn’t leave the case soon as Karthi asks them to drop the case. The culprits have mercilessly chopped down innocent couple and his father. He should have assigned at least a plainclothesman to watch over his house for security purpose. Again, when the police commissioner is involved in Crime Scene Investigation near Coovam, he is never spotted with gloves. This is completely amateurish. When the bodies of the young boy and gal are found, why do we find just the witness Jayaprakash (Karthi’s father) in most of the sequences and not the parents of victims… The case could have been absolutely solved if their parents had lodged a complaint at police station.

The film has whole lot of drawbacks and if you’re yet willing to watch the film, you can go ahead forgetting these absurdities.

On the positive side, Karthi is good at his performance and often we don’t see actors like him tanning their skin. Mark our words! The actor is sure to make it bigger on charts and will soon hold a prominent place amongst A-league actors. Kajal Agarwal looks cute and steals the show with her beautiful looks. Jayaprakash as Karthi’s father is brilliant while the other actors have come up with flawless performances.

The musical score by Yuvan Shankar Raja is the biggest plus for the film and his background score during second half is far above excellence. Mathi’s cinematography is yet another additional highlighting feature and editing is neat and good.

The film will not entertain the family audiences, especially women and children keep themselves occupied during second half with lots of violence.

3 Idiots is Rascals in Tamil and Telugu?

Shankar, one of the most celebrated directors in South India, will direct the much-discussed remakes of Bollywood blockbuster 3 Idiots in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously. Gemini Film Circuit will be producing the flick in both languages. Vijay and Mahesh Babu will play the lead role in Tamil and Telugu respectively. The latest buzz is that the film has been titled as Rascals in Tamil and Telugu! Official confirmation is awaited. Notably, this is the first time Shankar will attempt a remake exercise. At present, the director is busy with the release formalities of Enthiran, starring superstar Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Balachandar is always remembered for his colossal contributions to the Tamil film industry. But what makes him more dignified is of introducing the greatest living legends of Indian film industry – Superstar Rajnikanth and Padmashree Kamal Haasan.

The filmmaker was invited to take part on the occasion of honoring Kamal Haasan for his 50 years of successful filmdom by Kerala State Government. However the auteur couldn’t make his presence felt for the event due to his illness.


But he has expressed his words of praises for Kamal Haasan in 7 pages of Letter. Says K. Balachandar: "Rajnikanth stands tall, for the entire world to see. Kamal Haasan, however, straddles the whole world. Rajnikanth is a phenomenon. Kamal is an icon, a monarch of all he surveys!"

Adding more, K. Balachandar utters, "Thomas Alva Edison is credited with discovering electricity. Alexander Bell the telephone, RL Stevenson the Steam Locomotive, Macroni the Radio. The Lumiere Brothers the moving picture to tell stories. I am too fortunate to find a place amongst these discoverers. Because I am credited with discovering Kamal Haasan. In truth, I did not discover Kamal Haasan; I only gave him the platform and the opportunity to discover himself. In the process, I was blessed enough to discover myself!"

Meera Jasmine marriage with musician Mandolin U Rajesh

She has to make that decision whether she wants to act," said Rajesh, adding that their marriage will not be delayed anymore. His illustrious brother, Mandolin U Srinivas and he were in the city on Monday and appeared on a TV channel programme to shared their views. Nayantara to marry in December?

There have been rumours linking between popular South Indian actress Nayantara and choreographer-actor-director Prabhu Deva in the past, which the actress denied on several occasions! Going by the latest developments, it appears that these rumours were not unfounded true and the latest buzz in Chennai is that the couple may tie the knot in December.

Nayan has given up her career as her priority is to marry Prabhu Deva. They are made for each other and are just waiting to legalise their relationship the moment Prabhu's divorce from his wife comes through," a source close to Nayantara was quoted as saying.

Reportedly Prabhu's family has accepted Nayantara and she is the darling of the household. Recently, the couple is said to have exchanged garlands during a big homam performed by Prabhu's dad Sundaram Master.

"Last Tuesday, they were spotted at a Vadapalani theatre holding hands and watching Karthi's Naan Mahaan Alla," a source added. Prabhu Deva also took her to Paris during the shoot of Jayam Ravi's Ich, which he's directing.

Nayantara is currently focusing on completing all her pending projects in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada such as Arya's Boss Engira Baskaran, Electra in Malayalam and Symbol with Upendra in Kannada.

TRISHA MISSED KAMAL...ONLY BY JUST!

K.S. Ravikumar is a busy man wrapping up the schedule for Manmadhan Ambu. While most of the filming was canned with the actors on a cruise and in places like Spain, the final schedule of shooting is being held in Kodaikanal. It was earlier announced that Trisha and Madhavan were in Kodai for shooting. While Trisha had a couple of days off, she took a quick flight back to Chennai to be with her family.

It so happened that Kamal was in Kodai as part of the schedule. Trisha knew about this when she returned to Kodai after three days. What a miss that was Trisha. Well, in any case, Manmadhan Ambu is nearly complete and post-production work of the movie is to start soon. We can be rest assured that our funny bones will be tickled with Crazy Mohan and Kamal teaming up with KS. Ravikumar.

ILAYARAJA AND HARRIS TO BE FELICITATED

The prestigious Trinity College of London will felicitate Indian musicians for their yeoman service. L. Subramaninan, Ilayaraja, Harris Jayaraj, Ganeshkumar, Manisharma, and VS Narasimhan will be felicitated in a function that is to be held in Chennai on September 1st 2010.
It is worth mentioning here that noted film music composer Ilayaraja has completed a music course at the Trinity College of London several years ago. Likewise, Harris Jayaraj was also a student of this prestigious institution.

Trisha - a drug peddler

News that are coming in about Trisha is more serious than what we all expected.
The Nigerian who is now in police custody and Raviteja's brothers have revealed that a Kollywood Actress has acted as a middle man taking 40% as commission on every sales.

According to those in police custody, per year they have done a business of upto Rs 500 crores of which a reasonable business was done in Kollywood circles.

Tamil Nadu Film distributors will not allow screening of any Vishal's movies

According to TN Film Distributors Association, Vishal is not paying them their promised amount even after keeping several requests. So they gathered yesterday and discussed about future action against him.
Its GK Films Corporation which took up the issue. As Vishal has failed to make payments to film distributors through out TN, they unanimously adopted a resolution to stop co-operation for Vishal's movies.

AJITH HAPPY WITH MANKATHA

ACTOR MARRIES REALITY SHOW PARTICIPANT

Actor Bala, who had starred in Tamil films like Kadhal Kisu Kisu and Manjal Veyil, got married to Amritha Suresh on August 27th, 2010 at the Marundeeswarar Temple in Thiruvanmiyur at 12:30 pm. The couple was engaged last year after the two met at a reality show for a Malayalam television channel in which Bala was the judge and Amritha was a participant.
The newlyweds will host a reception for the Malayalam film fraternity on September 5th in Kochi.

Now, it is time for another round of such dominance and for the first time since 2007, it does look like the craze that was there for Sivaji is gong to be equaled or even bettered. Of course, we are not forgetting a great landmark that did come to pass in 2008 which too had a similar effect on the industry. But, now it is time to celebrate Superstar once again as he gets ready to deliver his brand of entertainment to his fans all over the world. Some might point out to Kuselan as the last time that Superstar was on screen, but that was at best, a pretender to a real Superstar flick, having only flashes of what Rajinikanth would be on screen.

Our cute young hero Jeeva who show his debut in the film ‘Thithikuthae’ with the beautiful actress sharmi. Now his latest release Siva Manasula Sakthi is reached the people very well and become famous. He is doing his next flick titled ‘Vithai’ where the film is produced by Baburaja for JJ Good films.
